By budgeting effectively in 2016 (thanks YNAB!), we were able to devote my entire Christmas bonus to paying off debt and are starting the new year with 0 revolving debt. It's a strange feeling, since it's been our goal for so long. Now it's finally here and we're both in a bit of shock!

It was hard to "let go" of the Christmas bonus. I come from a family of extreme fiscal irresponsibility. My mind immediately started thinking of two things: 1) never spending a cent of it, or 2) spending it all irresponsibly. In the end, every cent of the bonus went to paying off our debt. All credit to my wife for persisting.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this accomplishment with you folks, since it was a post on this subreddit that originally motivated me to give YNAB another shot. After that post, I took over our household budget and we've never looked back!

Thanks again for being such a great community.
