I'm graduating school and have a fairly lucrative job lined up (60k first year, 85k second year, and anywhere between 120-180k my third year). I'd like to quickly pay off mine and my husband's student loans (combined $100k), and start working towards buying a house.
My husband makes roughly 30k a year. I know this only from our tax returns. I'm unable to get a straight answer on how much his hourly wage is, so I'm unable to anticipate his monthly income (aside from making estimates based on previous year). I've asked him numerous times for the precise values of his monthly debt, but have never received the same answer twice. I know this sounds spiteful, but knowing my husband, I suspect it's more that he doesn't want to deal with it/is uninterested in the topic, so he dodges and ignores.
I've seen the sub's books and video suggestions, but I'm looking for something other that "here, read/watch this." I've already tried this approach, and I didn't have long-lasting success.
Also, this isn't a cry for relationship advice. Im genuinely looking for ways to spark an interest in the topic.
Tl;dr: My husband won't tell me his monthly income/debt. I'd like to pay off our student loans and buy a house. How do I get him interested in budgeting and personal finance outside of offering him a book to read?
