Hello,

As you may notice on the title, I work at a security company and work 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 6pm-6am each guarding a truck yard during those two days. (I get 24 hours per week, and I get paid every two weeks, totaling to 48 hours per paycheck. I get paid around a mere $7.50/hr. This pay rate will come relevant later in the complaint.) I have been working for this security company for the last 3 months since mid-September of 2016.

The reason I'm posting my complaint about the said company is that I'm not sure if this would be borderline illegal or just really horrible work management in general, and also since this subreddit has an employment category, might as well post it here for any help that you guys can give.

Usually after my shift ends, a guard replaces me to end my shift on time. Since I work between 6pm-6am in one day, a guard replaces me by around 6am to end the shift.

However, as my shift ends on a Sunday, close to 6am the next day on a Monday, a guard (which is also the so-called "Lieutenant" or site supervisor as I call him), almost always arrive late to work and I'm forced to stay at the site I'm guarding by at least 20 minutes after my shift was supposed to end. (For instance, just TODAY, on 1/2/2017, my shift ends at 6am, however the supervisor arrived to the site to replace me at around 6:22 am, and never called me to tell me that he would be arriving late.) This is not the first time that has happened. This has been constantly going on since December of 2016 after every Sunday shift that I leave at 6am on every Monday.

Also, here is where the pay rate will come. Another thing is that on Monday, 12/5/2016, the so-called "Lieutenant" called me regarding that he will be late by at least 30 mins (which would be the only time he called me starting from the beginning of December), however he also told me that he will allow me add an extra hour on my 12 hour shift for the Sunday that I worked, which will total to 13 hours for Sunday, 12/4/2016. So I added 13 hours on a paper time sheet which is located on a file cabinet, and added from 18:00 to 7:00 for that day. By around Tuesday on 12/6/2016, the supervisor called me later that night saying that because of an "error" on the payroll, the extra hour would not be added to my paycheck and instead he will personally pay the extra hour on Monday when he replaces me at 6am on 12/12/2016. And guess what? He arrived late on that day at around 6:19am to the site, and paid me a mere $7.00 in CASH (and NOT $7.50). So I just accepted the money like an idiot and left (and hey, who doesn't want to get paid extra anyways).

I know this is long, but I'm just feeling distraught right now, because just today, the "supervisor" did the same thing today and told me that he will pay me an extra hour for the shift today, and stated that it would not be added to the payroll.

Any advice would be helpful, no matter the amount. Thank you.

PS: To prove that he is constantly doing this, I am starting to build evidence by taking pictures of my time sheet (which will come at around this Saturday on 1/7/2017) and also any information proving I was still at the site after my shift ends at 6:00 am. I have photographed an inspection paper for a tractor trailer. The time I've written is the time the tractor trailer has left the site at the time, which was at 6:18 (in military time), along with the date of 1/2/17, and the name of the inspector, which is my name. If you guys want to see the photograph, let me know.

TL;DR: I am a security guard that is pissed at the next guard replacing me because he constantly arrives late by at least 20 mins with no call, and has done possible shady shit regarding being late. Any advice on what to do is appreciated. Thank you.

Edit: I forgot to add that my workplace doesn't pay overtime after 40 hours in a week. Since I'm part time, I don't really go over the 40 in a week (or 80 for every two weeks). Also, since I work part time, during a week, this supervisor calls me that I am scheduled to work on a weekday, when I was just hired and contracted to only work on weekends. Instead of asking me if I could work on a weekday, he "schedules" me to work that one weekday, even if I don't feel like it... (even though I get paid more, which why not, right?). I feel unhappy at times when that happens.

Edit 2: I meant to say that they will not schedule anyone to work for more than 40 hours per week to prevent paying overtime.
