After reading the Shun thread going on elsewhere in this sub, it got me thinking. I am moving to Europe (Prague) for a few years with nothing more than my clothes.
As I intend to do some cooking, I figure now would be a good time to get a decent knife. I have never had a high grade knife but recently used my sister in law's Shun while visiting for a few weeks and holy shit did it ever make me want to just keep cooking and cooking and cutting stuff up.
So now I naturally want a nicer slicer of my own.
Since I will be right next door to Germany (literally) I imagine DE knives should be cheaper /easier to get than Japanese steel.
My budget is around $200. Any recommendations?
