Quick question I can't seem to find an trustworthy answer for. Income for my wife and I are too high for a Roth IRA. Interested in a backdoor Roth IRA, but wife has a traditional IRA that we do not want to convert. So she would be unable to do a backdoor Roth. I do not have an IRA set up under my name. We file taxes married filing jointly. Can I still do a Backdoor Roth IRA for my $5500 or will her traditional IRA make this problematic for tax time? (Thinking about doing this now for 2016 year and again in a month or two for 2017) I really appreciate the help.
