I just finished my bachelor's this December, living at home for free with my parents. No car, they cover health insurance.
I got an interview with a great place in San Francisco (aka really expensive!!), A lot of the job responsibilities are skills I don't have, that I see a TON of other jobs requiring which is a huge plus. It's a 1 year position. My only hangups about this job are money based, and I want to know I would accept the job so I can go into the interview with no reservations.
I have about 10k on student loans, mostly subsidized I believe, repayment starts May. I have about 3k in savings, and I believe my parents have another account for me with probably another 5k.
I'm a very frugal person, really avoid spending money on basically anything not 100% needed.
I think career wise this would be great experience, and I'm young and don't have a lot of financial responsibilities (car, mortgage, kids) so it might be worth it. I'd also probably get a part time job on the weekends.
Am I way out of touch here? Is this actually a terrible idea?
