About me: I'm a male student living in a fairly cold climate.

I read about merino wool, and how well it works considering the amount of smell and how quickly it dries. Then I purchased socks, boxers and a T-shirt. I realized I could hand wash them in the sink in the evening so that they are dry in the morning. That worked well for a week, so I threw out all of my socks, boxers and t-shirts. It's been half a year now, and I'm never going back to owning several items of these, I just don't see the reason to.

I hand wash the clothes in the evening every second or third day, and let them dry for the night. It just takes 5 minutes of my time and it's a nice thing to do before you go to bed as a routine. That is the only downside.

I own a pair of shorts that can also be used for swimming that I use if I don't wanna go around the house naked.

And there's so many upsides! First of all, I never have to use a washing machine, so I never have to plan around using shared washers, or I'll save the money if I wanted to buy one. Also, it's compact.

But the biggest upside is when I travel. Since a lot of my life is extremely minimal in the first point, and I carry almost everything I need in my daily life, I never have to pack for travelling. I went to visit my friend in a different town for a week, and I didn't bring any luggage at all. In my jacket pocket I had a phone charger and a toothbrush. I didn't need anything more than that because I can just find a soap in any bathroom and wash myself and my clothes.

It's the way to go folks. If you can just bear spending 5-3 minutes before going to bed every second day, just do it.

I'm going to wash my clothes now and go to bed, but if you have any questions, I'll answer them in the morning.
