Hi Personal finance!! So about 4 years ago when I was 16 I needed a machine to assist breathing as I slept (CPAP). My mom thought that we were trying it for free but ended up getting charged ~$300. I am currently 20 years old and I'm trying to get my first credit card and I found out that I was sent to collections for this $300 charge. My mom just ended up cutting communication with this company as she was in a poor spot financially and could not pay it.
I know it's only $300 but I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do to dispute this as I thought you couldn't be sent to collections until you were 18.
