I've seen a few other posts like this similar here, and thought someone might be able to help us.

Picture explains it pretty well, but I have additional information too. During this period, the electric company consistently bounced between actual readings and estimated, except for Sept, Oct, and Nov of this year, where they estimated for 3 months in a row. We live in SW PA and our heating system is gas powered. We did put up some LED Christmas lights in December, but other than that we can't find any reason we would have used that much extra power. When we contacted our company with concerns, they said everything was fine. When we went to check the meter ourselves, they had already replaced the meter. When we called back and asked them, they said it was routine and that our old meter wasn't malfunctioning.

Luckily, we are on the payment plan and actually held a credit with the company, so this wasn't a huge bump into our budget. We do feel like we've been taken advantage of with no way to prove it.
