Hey frugal! I'm new to budgeting, and just found the powertochoose website this weekend. There are actually hundreds of plans available in my area, some as low as 4.4 cents pKw. TXU (my current provider) had several plans available in the 7 cent range, and Reliant (the other "big name" company here) had a couple in the 6 cent range. These required contracts and/or to be a new customer. I looked and we're currently on a month-to-month plan paying 14.4 cents pKw! Are there other hidden costs I should be aware of that make these low kilowatt plans looks better than they really are? Is it worth signing a contract for the lower rate? We own our home and would not be moving anytime soon.
I appreciate any feedback! Thanks, everyone! :)
