I'm a bachelor living with my yellow lab in a 1500 sq ft ranch. I spend most of my time in the basement (man cave) where my TV and computer are (I also play with the dog in the basement when it's 0 degrees out). I'm just wondering if it would be cheaper to run a small electric space heater down there, instead of the furnace (furnace kept to 64 degrees)? I already have most of the vents closed on the main floor. Any insight is appreciated.
