Since have worked in/audited and rarely trust healthcare organizations, I wanted to buy a 50 or so new Nintendo 3DS games for kids stuck at our local children's hospital instead of making a direct monetary donation. Is the roughly $80 in sales tax ok to include for tax deduction? Do any states typically let you claim something like this as a credit on state returns?
