We don’t fight all that often, but we got into a pretty big spat the other day, and my dad kicked me out of the house permanently. I’m currently couch-surfing and occasionally living out of my car. I have about 10 grand, the vast majority of which will be going to an apartment I get. I have about 30,000 dollars of student loans, of which my dad is a co-signer. My questions is, what happens if I refuse to pay my loans (or can’t feasibly afford it without selling off my car, using my IRA funds, etc.) I know this will affect my credit score, but beyond that, how does this play out? Does his credit score get lowered? Will they come after him to get the money, or am I going to be required to sell my car and use up my IRA funds to pay off the loans? I’m really struggling and don’t know what to do. Part is it would be revenge for leaving my on the streets if I’m being honest. And for anyone wondering, I don’t think this situation is repairable. Looking for advice.

Thank you!
