I started investing with an advisor and the recommendation was to diversify between moderate and risky investments (ETFs, pension, metals, etc). As a moderate investment, just to counter inflation without making a profit, he suggested investing in metals, namely gold, silver, platinum, indium, gallium, germanium, rhenium and iridium. He suggested a service called granvalora.de and the plan was to invest €110 per month. But looking at that service, they have a setup fee equal to three months (€330) and a monthly fee of 5%. For this investment to justify, the return should offset that initial setup value, the monthly fee and inflation. Considering that the objective is only to offset inflation, is this investment worthwhile?
