Commission-free investing and online brokerages like Robinhood and Webull has made the financial markets more accessible and transparent. For me it's allowed me to take charge of my financial future and become educated on investing and low cost ETF's to manage my own money. I know brokerages used to have account minimums sometimes as high as $2,500 with steep brokerage fees on each trade.
