Obviously the most frugal option for book lovers is to borrow from the library. The second most frugal option though is buying books from the "Friends of the Library" bookstore located inside most big libraries. It's cheaper than your local used book store, and cheaper than buying new from amazon (which is only cheaper than buying new from brick and mortar stores). Whenever I'm at a random suburban town for whatever reason I'll try to go to their Friends of the Library bookstore and I will usually buy 5-10 popular books and end up spending maybe $5 tops because the books are usually 50 cents or $1 each. Last month I found Pachinko for $0.50! This title usually go for $10 at a used book store, about $20 new. If you prefer to own books and don't mind having used copies, I highly recommend going to the library bookstore over a used bookstore.
