This might be naive, but I work in tech and layoffs are happening left and right. I recently recieved a ~6% raise just last week. We're also in a hiring freeze and word of a reorg happening.
Am I at risk at being laid off? My team arguably has a little more padding resource wise. I'm worried that with my recent project ending, I might not have a place to fit. Although my manager says that they'll find something.
That said, I'm a junior role but I've been at my company much longer than my teammate who has been here only a few several months.
My thoughts are that the raise was meant to give confidence that I won't be laid off. But I can't help but worry with the current climate.
