So me and a roommate have been living in a 2br apartment since December 1st. We have had lots of problems with the utilities since we moved in. We paid our full $1500 rent last month. Our internet has been terribly slow since we moved in. Like we have to wait for pictures and gifs to load forever. Our downstairs heat hasnt worked and we've had to get a space heater to be in the living room. Our front door has drafts coming through from giant gaps in the door. And this month our hot water went out and it took 2wks to get fixed. We have told the landlord about all the problems and he has slowly been taking care of them. But our internet and heat still aren't fixed. I'm wondering if it would be fair to ask for rent to be discounted this month. Maybe instead of $1500 we could ask for $1000? We are on good terms with the owner and have just been kind of fed up on waiting. We know our landlord pretty well. He's not a friend but we've stayed at his other properties. Would it be out of line to ask?
