I will try to represent the income in monthly paycheck amount after taxes.

I used to earn about 4.5k/month 2 years ago and worked there close to 6 years. 2 years ago left for a job that paid 6k/month. It was a good job but didn't like it after 8 months or so and left for a contract job that paid 10k/month(FAANG)

I had lots of debt before but thanks to the last job I have now more than 100k saved.

But this awesome job is over. Contract extension or going full time did not work due to hiring freezes.

I think I will be going back to my first job that paid 4.5k and possibly will get 5k/month upon joining. I know I could do better but, the market is really not good. I have been applying/Interviewing and still do not have any offers.

We had a small starter house and sold it in 2021 because of job relocation. But we(2 kids and wife does not work) really miss having a house of our own. Renting now and paying about 2.5k/month for rent. Can put 20% down on ~300k house easily.

I know interests are high but can always refinance later so I am not too worried.

Any other suggestions I can watch for?

Edit 1: one option I have is to buy the dips but don't want to risk all.
