My apartment complex e-mailed me my lease renewal today and they are raising my rent by $300 and putting it over the $2000 mark i have been dreading. I can afford it..... Barely. Like $20 left at the end of the month barely.
Is it common to negotiate the increase down in the same way you would negotiate a higher salary when accepting a job offer? Obviously I would be happy to not have an increase at all but even if they gave me back $100 that would help.
Is this a thing that happens? How would i even go about doing it?
