Hello everyone!

Sorry for being new and having a shy question. I really need some advice. I did go to our personal finance wiki and couldn’t find the answer. If I missed something please let me know.

So my new company is offering employee stock purchase plan beside 401k. Per payroll period allowable deduction is usd20-200.

(I’m putting 10% of my income towards 401k with this company right now, and they match 9%. I’m 30-40 years old and I don’t have dependent or debts. I do have a car loan about to payoff. I do plan to purchase a condo/house in the next five years, and I’m saving up for down payment in the near future.)

I would like to listen to your opinion: is it a good opportunity for me to join the stock purchase plan? And what should I consider to make the decision? What’s the pros and cons?

Thank you in advance!
