I like coffee. A lot. It got to he point where I was going out every day to my favorite local shop for a cup of drip. In the last month I stopped going out and made all my cups at home. I just crunched the numbers.

The total cost for a cup at home is $0.74 (this includes my favorite blend, creamer, and living arrangement as an on-campus student). It costs $2.61 to buy a cup out. Making my coffee at home represented a 70.8% savings, which would total to over $650 a year. I knew the math would be astonishing, but I expect a lasting impact on my behavior.

The kicker? I brewed the same roast that my favorite coffee shop uses! I knew this math would be shocking, but I think this will be quite impactful on my behavior moving forward!
