If you sign up for a monthly service that you don't use frequently, cancel it as soon as you sign up. You'll have a month's use then if you want to keep using it sign up again and cancel again for another months use.

I use BT sport in UK. Its £25 a month but sometimes I can't/don't watch a game for a few weeks. So whenever there is a game on I want to see, if the subscription has ran out I'll pay for a month and cancel. That way I'm not paying £25 a month, but maybe £25 every 6-8 weeks or more.
