Posting for my friend.
She’s a 1099 who works for a small business at a rate of $5k per month. She’s been paid consistently up until about 3 months ago when they’ve all of a sudden stopped paying her. She’s approached them about it but is met with a promise of “we’ll get right on it”. At this point, they owe her 3mo * $5k = $15k.
Does she have any recourse here? Any sort of boards she can file a report with? Will taking them to small claims court help at all?
