I’m 24 years old with an income of around 60,000. I’m also a full time university student. When I was 21 years old I bought a house for 143,000. I never lived in it and let my sister stay in it the whole time without charging her more than the mortgage. With the housing market being crazy right now I called a realtor and decided to sell the home. We are going to put it on the market for 209,900 with hopes of getting offers above that. Now I’m getting cold feet about selling. It just feels wrong, like i have a feeling that I should just always keep it as an investment. But getting the money from the sale would really put me at ease while I finish school and not have to worry about money. I’m also around 10 thousand dollars in debt with plans on eliminating that within a couple months. Any advice? Am I right to sell this home? I forgot to mention that I already live in a house myself.
