Hi!

Today my supermarket had almost past date yogurts (optimal utilisation, not consumption). They were selling their organic yogurts at 10 cents for one. I got 16 of them (so 1€60) and some chocolate (for 1€, i used half so .50€).

If you"'re trying to make the same stuff: Yogurt, honey in a bowl, mix well (with beater if you have one, otherwise use a whisk to incorporate air!). Once this is done, use a knife to "shave" the chocolate so you have little chocolate shavings. Mix that, put in a container (with lid) in the freezer, and set an alarm to remember to mix that every hour. Don't fill your containers to the top!

Bam! after a few hours, you have creamy ice cream! i made more than 2 full tubs worth of ice cream (my tubs are 1L, i made a bit more than 2).

If you let it freeze overnight, you'll have some great (but maybe a bit hard) ice cream. The trick is to break the ice crystals every so often while it's in the early freezing stages. Definitely don't expect a story-bought ice cream like consistency thought.

In grand total: i have made 2 tubs of ice cream for 2€10, while a single store bought tub costs around 3€ (the most basic one is less expansive, but doesn't have the chocolate shavings).

Remember to check the "almost at date" aisle today while on your grocery trip!

Here is a picture of one of the tubs, if you have stracciatella where you are it tastes exactly like it! (here its the name of yogurt with chocolate shavings).

If you have tips on how to make it better, i'd love to see that! if you end up experimenting with it too, keep me updated! i'd love to see what you'll do with that!
