Recently had a screening phone interview for a position I applied for. When the question about salary expectations came up, I said I'd prefer to look at the whole package and get to know we are a fit at this point. But if there is a range to qualify for, I'd be happy to know if it's in the ballpark.
Well they did, depending on position title it was 60 to 70K. Which was very low. I didn't know what to do, and said 60 is lower than expected but 70 is closer to the ballpark. And now I have a second interview scheduled.
Currently I make 85K and wouldn't leave unless the job off is for significantly more. Is there even room to negotiate that far? Should I just cancel the 2nd interview? I know I should've said something, just panicked.
