I was recruited by a 3rd party staffing agency to work for a small tech company. The tech company is willing to pay me a very high salary. I would technically be working under the staffing agency for the first 6 months, with the opportunity to become full time with the tech company after that. My work would entirely be related to the tech company, not staffing. Recruiter said the tech company uses the first 6 months as a trial period so they don't have to spend all the money it takes to hire someone full time directly (in case it's a bad fit for either party).

Has anyone heard of this trial period concept, and does it raise red flags?
