So I just got my first home and picked out an energy plan that is the best value for a house that uses 1000-1500 kw a month which is normal for a house my size. However, my home is an energy efficient home and I never reach 1000 kw(usually 700ish)
The way the plan works is that I pay about 14.9cts/kw but I get a $75 credit when my energy usage is between 1000-1500. So the way the math works out, when I use 500kw my bill is $75 but if I were to use 1000kw it would be $69. With my 700ish kw used a month, my bill has been about $100.
Since I'm stuck in this plan for a year, I've started to purposely waste energy in hopes to hit that 1000 mark 🤣 I've had the AC cranked up to uncomfortable temperatures this month, hopefully it pays off in the end.. Anybody else been in this situation?
