Whenever grocery shopping, I make it a habit to check the unit price of my items! Paying more for a 1kg block of cheese ($8aud) is worthwhile if I always run out of the smaller 600gram blocks that are $6 or so. Same with pay iing $5 for a 1litre bottle of garlic aeoli that is $4 for a 375ml bottle. It's crazy how they price stuff just for convenience's sake! This also works out with other things, such as garden soil, soda, things that cost per square metre, etc. This has saved me a bunch of money over the years, even if I'm spending a little more in the moment!
