I work for a startup remotely. I get paid in USD into TransferWise and then pay a majority (but not all) bills and daily expenses in Mexican pesos. I’m trying to set up Toshl right now since it can handle the multi currency budgeting.

I have two questions:

  1. I get paid somewhere between the 24th and the 2nd once a month. What’s the best way to configure Toshl to deal with this especially as it relates to the budgeting feature? Should I wait until the 1st to send my rent payment for example? In the past I have always just sent the money when I get paid (e.g. on the 24th of April for May rent if that makes sense) but now when I did the historical data input the budgeting feature wasn’t working, since April rent payment was getting counted against April budget and not May.

  2. What’s the best way to reduce my expenses overall? Is it just a watch, reconcile, find the pattern and break it game?
