I will be moving to a new apartment soon and am looking for recommendations for an alternative to a traditional ISPs (i.e., Spectrum, AT&T) for internet access. What would be ideal is if I could get a data hotspot (standalone router instead of mobile). Has anyone found any good deals for this? I understand that for mobile plans, even the unlimited plans seem to have caps for hotspot usage, has anyone found a plan that has unlimited tethering?
While an unlimited hotspot would be ideal, it's not a necessity. I just would want the freedom to, for example, download a game if I wanted to. It would be ideal to have a distinct router/hotspot rather than use a phone, but if need be I could always hook up an old phone to power and use that as a hotspot.
