The recent snow and very cold weather has made me realize I need to be better prepared.
I need to purchase the following. Will be checking thrift stores but welcome what to look for. I don't want to spend a lot since these will probably only be used maybe once a year.
Boots for walking in snow - insulated and waterproof i guess? Maybe even something from target? Ll bean ones are $200+. I won't get $200 worth of wear out of them though.
Warmer socks!
Warm but not crazy-expensive coat - wind has been an issue.
I have long johns that are old and work okay. I get the layering thing. I have good thinsulate gloves, so so hats and scarves.
If I were wearing this stuff every day for months it would be worth it to spend $250 on boots and another $250 for coat but being in the south its much less.
