23 yr old college grad, making around $60k a year. Currently living at home to pay off some small CC debt, improve my score and build up an emergency fund. I'm saving around $1000 a month (sometimes a little more) with an end goal of around $5-7K (3-6 months of my projected expenses)...Then I started thinking about security deposits & furniture costs and quickly realized how this can eat up my emergency fund.
Are people really saving up 10k before moving into an apartment on their own?
