After watching some videos I've found 6 metrics to look at that shows me it's a good stock to look further into these being:
P/E
Price to book ratio
PEG
Return on equity
Debt to equity
Current ratio
However, having never invested in stocks how do you tell what is good and what is bad. You've got no past experience to go with so they just seem like arbitrary numbers.
For P/E you look at the industry and sector average Same for PEG But I can't seem to find where to find industry averages?
