Sounds like a dumb question but here goes nothing: This is the first time I've encountered this.
I'm a new driver with my 1st car and I went to the gas station this morning. I paid $15 to fill the tank, but the pump stopped itself at around ~$11 and some change when it reached capacity.
Obviously, I overestimated how much it would cost to fill the tank. But I'm curious as to whether I would technically get refunded for the difference automatically?
I'm not being a cheapskate, I swear. I just assumed that gas pumps would keep on going and you had to calculate it right so that it wouldn't spill from overfill?
Thanks for any answers!
