Hello all,
Has anyone 'downsized' careers for quality of life purposes? If so, what is your story?
By downsizing I mean choosing to work in a job that might pay less and be 'less prestigious' than the job you're qualified for, but choosing to do it because you know it affords you better quality of life by way of allowing you to be less stressed/anxious, spend more time with family, travel more, etc.
To give context, asking for a friend who is a lawyer and carries her clients' cases in her head and on her shoulders every waking hour of the day, sucking the enjoyment out of the little free time she does have. She says it'd be nice to be able to go for a walk or meet up with friends for a drink without the constant thought of what she needs to do for her cases nagging at the back of her mind.
Thanks for your thoughts :)
