So just wanted to get some opinions on what I can do differently or if i am headed on the right path.
I'm 28, no kids, paying student loans, car payment, and I rent an apartment with my fiance.
Currently, I've been at my job for just over 2yrs. Enrolled with the company 401k. I put 3% each week (weekly paycheck). I have about 11 grand in my 401k (also was at a previous employer and I was invested in their 401k as well).
I then tried to start budgeting myself to get better with money and I found a 50/30/20 rule that has been working for me.
I give myself an allowance of $100 a week. Then, I deposit $20 weekly into an online saving accounts with marcus by Goldman Sachs. I currently have about $300 in that account (recently opened it a few months ago). I have an APY of 1.84%.
I also started using acorns and currently have about $500 invested in there. I have my account set on moderate with a weekly deposit of $10.
I eventually plan on doing some more investing with betterment.
I don't have an emergency fund started but that's my next project to tackle.
I have about $1000 on a credit card but I also have $40 weekly going to that as well. This should be paid off within the next 6 months or less.
So, how am I doing so far?
