I manage a small business, and most of our marketing is done through social media, the responsibilities of which fall on me. I'm fed up with how much time I waste on social media (namely boredom browsing Facebook and Instagram and Reddit and the endless YouTube rabbithole). I've reconciled YouTube to 30 minutes a day and only videos I'm still interested in the following day after saving them to my Watch Later playlist, otherwise it gets deleted. Reddit has only been a matter of simplifying my subscriptions to actual interests and passions and subs that are genuinely beneficial to my life. Facebook and Instagram are the hard part. Unless I deactivate them (which I've done in the past), I end up wasting time on them. The problem is that since I run social media accounts for work, I cannot deactivate my personal accounts since they are linked. Anyone have any tips for disciplining myself to stay off of them, as they add no value or benefit to my life outside of work purposes?
