One pain point for us was the GIANT copper hood above the fireplace, so we removed it (it was just aesthetic, was providing any functionality).We are trying to figure out what to do with it now. We love the river rock and would like to keep it, but our contractors won't just cover the exposed brick part with wood because of fire hazard.
