Hey guys, Building a shed in my back yard and getting near the end. Today I bought the last materials I need which included (I thought) 3/8" Z Flashing to go between the siding on the gable ends and the siding on the sides of the shed. I'm using LP SmartSide which is 3/8" thick.Anyway long story short I put the Z flashing on and it looked a bit big, sticks out a bit from the paneling (not flush). Didn't think too much of it and kept on the job, but it started gnawing on my mind tonight so I went back and looked at the receipt and sure enough it's 5/8" Z Flashing (I grabbed it from the 3/8" pile but apparently it was in the wrong spot).Anyway, it's already up and the paneling is on above it and I'm not about to remove the paneling off the gable ends (besides the fact I don't have enough spare paneling it took awhile to cut everything for the angles and the vents). From the ground you can kind of tell it sticks out and I'm not sure if it will affect how well it works.I was thinking I would just take a short 2x4 and press it against the part of the Z flashing that sticks out and hammer softly at a downward angle to bend the Z flashing so it slopes and then presses flush against the bottom siding panel. Is there any reason this would cause a problem? Is it better to just leave it as is? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2H0AyXH
