Just a small and positive update to my post that got a few replies to it: https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/comments/d2zrq9/help_home_depot_cc_was_keyed_in_for_multiple/
The CFPB was absolutely the right choice here. I got a reply on the very last day they were allowed, but all charges have been reversed on my card, as well as a typed statement from the "executive response team". I did file a police report as well, and that is still ongoing.
Interestingly, there has been no other hits to my credit at all, outside of the bad usage of the HD card. The officer that I've spoken with a few times, seems to think it might be an inside job type thing, because all the purchases were Nest Cameras, which involve unlocking them from a cabinet, as well as a manually typed in card number.
Regardless, I froze my credit just in case.
Wanted to share the success story, even if it was a bit of legwork on my end.
