TLDR: Have a handful of tools, but would like to round out my setup with some good quality tools. Budget is $500 - looking for screwdriver sets, ratchet sets, toolbox, power tools, etc.

My father is sick and I've moved in with my parents to help take care of them. I've been fixing things up around the house - fixing small things like broken latches and the like and making small quality of life improvements.
Today, my father gifted me his tools (which I've already been using). Thing is, some of these are older than I am - and I'm in my mid 40s.
I'll likely keep what's usable, but I'd like to round out everything with some quality tools. The only power tool I have is a corded Black & Decker drill - and I am not sure where the bits are.
I'll need to spend a weekend sorting out everything - but would appreciate any suggestions on a good starter kit or things I should make sure I have.
