So my partner has thrown his hands up in terms of working jointly to create a monthly budget and/or schedule any kind of regular conversations regarding our finances. (For context: my parents were/are incredible but flat out refused to discuss family economics with one another, much less, their children. Although money is not an easy topic for me to discuss and can easily become an emotionally charged conversation, I feel that this process will help me work through some of that).
That being said - I have no idea where to start. We have a minted account and have synced all of our accounts. I'm just not really sure how to use or apply the functions. Do I set a somewhat arbitrary or ideal budget per category based on our history and monitor weekly? Any tips, thoughts, suggestions would be beyond appreciated.
