I have a vinyl 6ft privacy fence around my yard and would really like to have an automatic opener put on. Each gate length is about 8ft so it doesnt need to bee heavy duty as the swing set in the hinges isnt very much. My thinking is to have (if possible) a mechanism to lift the stop rod that I keep set on one of the gates then for it to unlatch and swing open then return to a neutral position. Ive found automatic swing openers that are actuated by key fob which would be perfect.Would it be possible for something to lift that stop rod out of the concrete or install one? What would happen if the stop rod is not always placed down as far as added stress on the latch itself so the doors dont just swing open themselves in a wind gust. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2WLAvEH
