Alright since you guys are lowkey harassing me for more info and I definitely might have messed up a sale date, I'm back with a quick guide to buying things from Nordstrom's sales.
- Each sale is approximately 3 weeks long
- I say approximately because if that department's manager packs up sale stuff early to get sent back, you might lose a day or three.
- I messed up the spring sale date, it starts next week, not this week.
- There is one markdown at the end of each week (give or take).
- Usually ends up being 20-30%/40-45%/60%
- Stock availability and discount level are inversely related, however you can possibly get something left over from the previous markdown the first day or two of the second markdown. Wouldn't chance it though because other stores fulfill out of your local store's stock room as well.
- After the sale is over if you didn't fancy anything for those prices or just didn't see something you like I would check your local Nordstrom Rack. We send a lot of the leftover product there. Also might get some things that your store never stocked because there are less Rack stores than mainline. Plus if you find a pair of Red Wings for a good price you can flex on people on this sub and pretend that you're sharing a deal.
- These are clearance sales so you won't find anything that most people would say is an essential or iconic piece for an amazing price.
Things to look out for:
- Nordstrom brand things are actually not that bad. Especially on sale prices. I would say especially after the second/third markdown you're getting a pretty solid value. Their shoes (Monte Rosso is our higher end, 1901 is mid tier, the Rail is usually shit though would avoid that) are especially decent value. 1901 Shoes are good if you need a cheaper pair of things to dip into a new style or season. I like the loafers/drivers a lot ( make sure you get the genuine materials as opposed to the faux ones, they're often priced the same).
- Allen Edmonds usually have firsts on sale for ~$230ish maybe going as low as ~$190. These are usually less possible styles but hey you might find something you like.
- Designer stuff goes on sale on our website. Like a lot of it. Can probably stock up on Kenzo and other smaller designers of similar reputation for a decent discount.
- No you won't be getting white Achilles lows for $100. Maybe the mustard yellow or red ones for $200ish
- If you don't see your size in-store we are more than happy to try to order it for you and we ship for free. Believe me, we all want the money. Just ask.
- Another user, u/b_lopes posted a shoe guide here.
That's all I have for now, I might update it as time goes on and I remember more. I'll probably make an anniversary sale guide later on.
If you guys wanna be bros and help me out, if you see anything you like online or in your store and you wanna order it through me so I can get that sweet commission, contact me VIA PM, I'll set up a payment and I can possibly make things work even if your size/color is sold out online. It would be very appreciated especially because my store is very dead and they're cutting my hours and a boy gotta pay for college which is not frugal.
Mods I can verify employment too.
