Hello! New to this forum, just got a permanent job and would love advice.
28 / female / London, UK.
Economics degree, qualified massage therapist (Swedish Full Body), looking to sustain a stable fixed-hour job whilst working on massage as a side business (self employed have all equipment, qualifications needed, a car etc).
Accepted a permanent role for a Trust, as a receptionist (£24k).
I'm expecting £1600 a month after taxes.
At present the massage business income is 0. I will be focusing on that after a few weeks of adjusting to the new role.
Financial help/gifts approx £1500 a month but I'd like to exclude this from my figures.
Rent - £600
Car - £225.33
Insurance - £184.65
Train/contactless fare to London - £10.60 a day (£230 a month)
Food - need to make a budget, free coffee and fruit at work, just eating out at the moment.
Bank balance is -£1100 (overdraft, fee of £6 a month). OD limit is -£1500
Credit card is -£1100. Credit limit is -£1,350.00.
Single, dating but all aspects paid for such as dinners etc, I just pay for transport.
Looking for advice, how to balance budget? What's acceptable for food for one person? I rent with two siblings but we all cater for ourselves. I'm sure I need to start cooking, meal prepping my lunches etc.
How much should I aim to bring in from massage? That may take two months approx to get money in.
