What's your local grocery store's return policy?
This past weekend I went to a lake town that had a large chain grocery store, Safeway. My group and I bought groceries there for our cabin. We bought one too many orange juice boxes and went back at the end of our trip to return it. The cashier said he would do it this one time, but it's not normal to return grocery items unless they are expired or damaged. He informed us we also couldn't return our unused bundle of firewood. I felt bad because maybe I was just accustomed to Trader Joe's and Costco's amazing return Policy.
So is this a general grocery store rule? Should I not try returning things in a grocery store?
