I found this complete japanese drumset (no name brand or numbers anywhere) to add to my studio, and chemically stripped and sanded down the dull exterior to bare wood (looks like maple veneer) before painting the interiors black onyx. I then stained the outsides twice with Sunshine Orange RIT dye with two applications mixed with very hot water. They looked like pumpkins before coating with 3 coats polyurethane (sanding between coats) before taking on a dark, smoky orange. The poly glossed excellently with each coat (hand brushed). Now it’s time to put the hardware back on! Thought I’d share while they were hanging....cheers, Reddit friends.
