I'm 25 and my life is very simple. I never travel (no money), never go out (no money), don't have a car (no money) and tbh I just don't like spending money in general anyway, since saving money is my top priority now. I'm in my final year at university and I live with my mom so I don't have to pay rent. I don't use social media because it makes me depressed. So basically I don't do anything my peers would consider "cool" (Instagram, traveling, partying/ going to festivals, owning a car or having my own place...Also, I'm single and have no close friends and have never been in a relationship. Meanwhile, my peers are talking about how important traveling is, their relationships/engagement rings, weddings etc.)
I feel like such a loser in society. I don't ever fit in. I have zero debt but currently only 1500 € in savings because I can't work at the moment and had to buy a new bed frame and a laptop (not a mac btw).
I'm living simply but I'm not happy at all. I'm unfulfilled, always feel out of the loop and despite being an extrovert, I can't be around people because my peers always want to go to places and make me feel inferior. I stopped socializing altogether in June, and the only people I talk to are my mom and her best friend.
I can't stand feeling like I don't belong. How can I feel happy without money in this consumerist society?
